 여성의 경영참여 확대를 통한 새로운 번영
New Prosperity through Increasing Management Participation of Women		 Crystal Ballroom3
Increasing the share of women working at the management level is an important global issue for economic and social development. However, only 3% of management executives were women in Korea as of 2019. This shows how women’s representation in Korea ranks the lowest among OECD member countries. Improving social awareness as well as policy tools to foster female leadership at the management level would be crucial.

Through the Jeju Forum, we aim to share the key questions and problems at stake, discuss successful cases and policies in different countries. We hope to better understand why we need more woman leaders and what we can do to help increase women’s management participation level in Korea. The sessions will center around the following questions:
How women’s representation and diversity can influence firm’s productivity levels? What can be done to improve the share of women’s executives? From the perspective of women’s executives what are some of the common challenges that women face? How did other countries overcome similar challenges?

여성의 경영 참여 확대는 경제와 사회발전과정 중에 대두되는 글로벌한 이슈이다. 그러나 우리나라 여성 임원은 작년 기준 3%에 불과한 실정이며 이러한 통계는 우리나라 경영계의 여성 대표성이 OECD 국가 중 최하위 수준임을 보여주고 있다. 이를 개선하기 위하여 사회의 의식개선과 함께 제도적 방안마련이 동시에 필요하다. 제주포럼을 통하여 우리보다 먼저 이 문제를 경험하고 대책방안을 마련하고 있는 선도국가의 사례를 공유하고, 전문가의 진단을 통하여 해법을 모색함으로써 여성 경영참여 확대 필요성에 대한 사회적인 공감대를 형성하고자 한다.
여성의 대표성 제고와 다양성 확보는 어떤 측면에서 기업 성장에 효과가 있을 것인가? 경영현장의 낮은 대표성제고를 위하여 어떠한 조치들이 실현되어야 하는가? 여성임원의 측면에서 볼 때 현장에는 어떤 어려움이 존재하고 있는가? 우리보다 앞서 이 문제를 경험한 해외 국가들은 이 문제를 어떻게 극복했는가?
