Dr. Kyungjin Song was President of the Institute for Global Economics (IGE), a private non-profit research institute, Seoul, Korea.

She also served the Government of the Republic of Korea in various capacities. She served, 2009-2011, as special adviser to the Chairman of the Presidential Committee for the Seoul G20 Summit in the Office of the President. While working as special adviser, she also oversaw the entire production of the official White Paper of the G20 Seoul Summit in 2010. Dr. Song worked, 2008-2009, as special aide to the Special Economic Adviser to the President and Chairman of the National Competitiveness Council in the Office of the President. From 2004 to 2008, she worked in the Ministry of Finance and Economy as foreign press spokesperson.

Dr. Song also served, 2011-2012, as special adviser to the Chairman & CEO of the Korea International Trade Association.

Dr. Song was awarded, June 2011, the Korean Government’s Order of Civil Service Merit “Red Stripes” for her outstanding contribution to the success of Korea’s G20 presidency in 2010. She is an active member of the WIR (Women in Korea) mentorship program of the Korean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

서울에 위치한 민간연구소인 세계경제연구원의 원장을 역임한 바 있는 송경진 박사는 대한민국 정부에서 다양한 역할을 했다. 2009-11년, G20 서울정상회의준비위원회 위원장 특보를 역임하면서 서울 G20정상회의 백서 편찬도 총괄했다. 2008-09년에는 청와대 대통령경제특보 겸 국가경쟁력강화위원장의 보좌관으로 역할했다. 2004-08년 기간에는 재정경제부 외신대변인으로 재직했다.

민간경제단체인 한국무역협회의 회장 특보도 역임했다(2011-12년).

2010년 서울 G20정상회의의 성공적 개최에 기여한 공로로 대한민국 정부의 홍조근정훈장을 수여했다(2011년 6월). 현재 한독상공회의소의 멘토링 프로그램 WIR에 멘토로 참여하고 있다.
