[Ministry of Foreign Affairs 외교부] 2015년 1월 한중 양국 간 체결된 기후변화 협력협정에 따라 2016년 6월 제1차 한중 기후변화 협력 공동위원회가 개최된 이후, 제3차 한중 기후변화 협력 공동위원회가 제주에서 열린다. 이와 연계해 개최되는 한중 기후변화 협력 세미나는 양국 기후변화 협상 대표 및 전문가의 참석하에 기후변화와 산림, 기후변화와 공동편익(Cobenefits), 탄소시장을 주제로 양국 국내 정책을 소개하고 기후변화 협상 동향 및 한중 협력 가능 분야 등을 공유하는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다. 이를 통해 한중 간 기후변화 협력 강화뿐만 아니라, 파리협정 이행을 위한 모멘텀을 강화하고자 한다. The First Korea-China Joint Committee on Climate Change Cooperation was held in June 2016 in accordance with the Korea-China Climate Change Cooperation Agreement signed in January 2015, and now the Third Korea-China Joint Committee on Climate Change Cooperation takes place in Jeju. Followed by the third Joint Committee, the Korea-China Climate Change Cooperation Seminar is to be held, focusing on Climate Change and Forests, Climate Change and Cobenefits, and Carbon Market with participation of the two countries’ climate change negotiators and experts. This will be an opportunity to introduce the two countries’ domestic policies, to share general reflection on the current climate change negotiations and to explore possible Korea-China cooperation areas. Through this seminar, it is expected to strengthen not only the climate change cooperation between the two but also the momentum for the implementation of Paris Agreement.
