여성 역량강화와 기업의 지속가능발전

Governments and private sectors are increasingly well aware of the importance of women’s participation
that brings societal and economic equality, leading to the national development and economic growth. The United Nations also calls for an urgent action for gender equality to achieve the Sustainable Development
Goals.
Women’s empowerment has been improved through corporate responsibility, valuing diversity, and implementing principles for inclusive business, yet women’s full participation in the leadership positions, promotions, hiring and wages remains unfulfilled.
The session will be a ground to discuss a glass ceiling for women, introduce a global trend towards corporate sustainable growth through ensuring gender diversity and women’s empowerment. In this regard, business efforts and achievements will be shared throughout the session.

최근 각 국가의 정부 및 민간부문은 직장, 시장 및 지역사회에서의 여성 참여가 사회적, 경제적 평등을 이루어 국가와 경제 발전에 도움이 된다는 것을 잘 인식하고 있다. 유엔 또한 지속가능발전목표(SDGs)를 비롯한 각종 경제 및 개발 계획을 달성하기 위해 양성평등을 신속히 달성해야 한다는 점을 강조하고 있다.
그 동안 기업의 책임과 다양성 존중 그리고 포용에 대한 원칙 적용과 실천으로 여성의 지위가 상당히 개선되어
왔으나 아직도 민간부문에서 고위직 진출이나 채용, 승진, 그리고 임금 현황 등을 살펴보면 여성의 충분한 사회
참여가 미흡한 실정이다.
이 세션에서는 여성이 처한 ‘유리천장(glass ceiling)’ 문제를 점검하고 성별 다양성 확보와 여성역량 강화를 통해 기업의 지속가능한 성장을 모색하는 세계적인 동향을 소개할 뿐 아니라 이에 대한 기업의 다양한 노력과 성과를 공유한다.
