[Korea National Diplomatic Academy 국립외교원] Through the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China held in October 2017, President Xi advocated a ‘New Type of International Relations’ and the ‘Community of Common Destiny with Mankind,’ as new keywords of Chinese foreign policy. The Chinese government has pursued an assertive foreign policy and recently showed its strong will to protect its national interests while its strategic competition with the U.S. is intensifying. On the other hand, China, as a responsible major power, emphasizes mutual respect, reciprocity, as well as peace and stability in the international community. Against this backdrop, this session aims to analyze the implication of the ‘One Belt, One Road’ initiative for the ‘Community of Common Destiny with Mankind’ and a New Type of International Relations. Furthermore, the panels will share their perspectives on how China can offer values and standard with its own characteristics to the world. 중국은 2017년 10월 개최된 중국 공산당 제19차 전국대표대회를 통해 외교 정책의 키워드로 ‘신형국제관계’와 ‘인류운명공동체’를 제시하였다. 국제사회에서 미국과의 전략적 경쟁이 점차 치열해지는 가운데 중국은 ‘분발유위’의 적극적인 외교와 ‘중국특색의 강군’ 건설, 그리고 국익에 대해서는 절대 양보하지 않겠다는 강한 의지를 보이고 있다. 반면 국제사회 ‘책임대국’으로서 중국은 상호 존중과 발전, 그리고 평화를 강조하고 있다. 이를 배경으로 본 세션에서는 중국의 ‘일대일로’ 구상이 19차 당 대회를 통해 강조한 ‘신형국제관계’와 ‘인류운명공동체’를 향해 가지는 함의를 분석해보고자 한다. 또한 이를 통해 중국은 평화적인 국제질서 구축을 위해 어떠한 ‘중국 특색’의 가치와 기준을 제시할 수 있을지에 관해 논의해 보고자한다.
