[Korea National Diplomatic Academy(KNDA), Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security(IFANS)]<BR>[국립외교원 외교안보연구소]<BR><BR>The intensifying U.S. and China’s security competition in Northeast Asia has led to increased security tensions in the region, which is also negatively affecting our policy toward the North Korean nuclear issue. South Korea has so far cooperated with the U.S. and China to resolve the North Korean nuclear issue. But China’s security competition with the U.S. and its objection to THAAD deployment in South Korea has significantly undermined our joint denuclearization efforts. Thus, this session aims to explore more effective ways to achieve North Korea’s denuclearization, while taking into account a new security environment in Northeast Asia.<BR><BR>최근 미중 안보 경쟁, 중국의 사드 반대, 한일 갈등 등 외교안보 관련 변수가 동시다발적으로 발생하면 서 한반도와 동아시아의 안보 위기가 커져 북핵정책 에도 부정적으로 작용하고 있다. 그 동안 한국은 최 대 안보 위협인 북핵 문제의 해결을 위해 미국 및 중 국과 협조해 왔으나, 중국이 미중 세력 경쟁과 사드 배치 반대에 집착하면서 북핵 문제 해결을 위한 외교적 집중도와 추진력이 현저히 감소했다. 따라서 이 세션에서는 동북아 신 안보환경 속에서 효과적인 북 한 비핵화 방안을 모색하고자 한다.
