[Jeju International Council 제주국제협의회]<BR><BR>East Asia is a region with ongoing crises where the Cold-War and the Post-Cold War intersect because super powers confront each other militarily while they are actively engaged in economic exchange and cooperation. This session attempts to make suggestions for how to promote East Asia to a more peaceful region from the perspective of civil society. Upon the inauguration of the new administration of South Korea, the civil society of Jeju should be able to seek out the ways of how to increase communication and cooperation as well as construct peace in East Asia not from the economic and military perspective only, but from the civil and social view point. The session expects invited specialists and audience to share their ideas and insights to come up with feasible strategies and better vision for the future of peaceful and prosperous East Asia. <BR><BR>동아시아는 냉전과 탈냉전이 여전히 교차하는 위기 지역이다. 경제 측면의 왕성한 교류·협력에 비해 군사적으로는 대치와 갈등이 고조되고 있기 때문이다. 그렇다면 시민사회 입장에서 동아시아는 이러한 긴장을 어떻게 풀어나가야 할 것인가? 이 세션에서는 동아시아 전문가 세 명을 초청해 신 정부 출범에 즈음한 이 시기에 심기일전의 자세로 경제와 군사가 아닌 시민사회학적 관점에서 제주 시민사회가 동아시아의 교류 및 협력 증진과 평화 구축을 어떻게 도모해 나갈지 그 방향과 전략을 들어 보고 청중과의 대화를 통해 지혜를 모아 보고자 한다.
