Dr. Young Sin JEONG obtained his Ph.D. degree from Department of Sociology at SNU in 2012, and specialized peace study and environmental sociology. He has been a member of senior researcher of Social Science Korea Research Cluster of JEJU National University since 2012. He has published over 20 journal and conference papers, co-authored Island of Commons, JEJU 1 and 2(JinInJin, 2016), translated Okinawan Modern Hitory(Nonhyoung, 2008), Okinawa Resistant Island(Changbi, 2014), The challenge of the commons theory(KyoungIn, 2014), Contemporary theory of collective ownership(JinInJin, 2016).

2012년 서울대학교 사회학과에서 『동아시아의 안보분업구조와 반(反)기지운동에 관한 연구』로 박사학위를 받았다. 11월부터 제주대학교 한국사회과학연구사업(SSK) '자연의 공공적 관리와 지속가능한 삶의 방식‘ 연구단의 전임연구원으로 활동을 시작했고, 2013년 1월에 제주로 이주했다. 번역서로 『오키나와 현대사』(논형, 2008), 『저항하는 섬, 오끼나와』(창비, 2014), 현대총유론(진인진, 2016) 등이 있고, 공저로 『공동자원의 섬 제주 1,2권』(진인진, 2016) 등이 있다.
