[East Asia Foundation 동아시아재단]<BR><BR>World is shifting attention to the foreign policies of the new US government after the inauguration of President Trump. Not yet having revealed most of the foreign policies, Trump administration consistently criticized the Asian policy of Obama administration and stressed that all new policies will be grounded on the “America First” principle. However, the US’s strategic interests and its relations with major allies and rivals in Asia-Pacific can’t be overlooked and some prospects show that Trump might suggest another form of “Pivot to Asia.” This session discusses the next policy moves Trump administration will make on Asia where US-Japan-South Korea alliance is interlocked with the DPRK issues and rivalry between the US and China.<BR><BR>트럼프 대통령 취임 이후 미국의 신 행정부의 대외정책 방향에 전 세계의 관심이 쏠렸다. 주요 대외정책들이 여전히 안개 속에 있는 현 트럼프 행정부는 오바마 행정부의 아시아 정책을 강하게 비판하는 한편, 모든 대외 정책을 미국우선주의에 입각해 접근 할 것이라고 공언했다. 그렇지만 주요 동맹국들과 경쟁국들이 속해 있는 아시아·태평양 지역에 대한 미국의 전략적 이익을 무시할 수 없기 때문에 지난 행 정부의 아시아 회귀 정책을 대체하는 다른 형태의 아시아 전략을 내놓을 가능성이 제기되고 있다. 한 미일 동맹, 북한 문제, 미중 간 대립 구도가 뒤섞인 아시아 지역에 트럼프 행정부가 내밀 정책 카드는 무엇일지 짚어본다.
