대한민국에서 난민은 어떠한 시선을 받고 있을까. 유엔난민기구 보고서에 따르면 2018년 예멘 난민 사태를 기점으로 우리 국민 난민 인지도가 높아졌다. 하지만 높아진 난민 인지도에 비해 난민에 대한 인식은 여전히 좋지 않은 상황이다. 대한민국 또한 과거에 난민이었던 역사를 가졌고, 국제법 이행 의무가 존재하는 나라이다. 이러한 점에서 우리는 세계 공동의 난민 문제에 관심을 가지고 해결의 실마리를 찾는 것이 반드시 필요하다. 본 세션에서는 대한민국 국민의 난민 인식 실태와 현황을 조사한 결과를 중심으로 난민 인식 개선을 위해 나아갈 방향을 논의하고자 한다. 또한, 난민과 우리 국민이 갈등을 줄이고 화합을 도모할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 한다. 난민과 국민의 평화적 공존을 위한 난민 인식 개선의 장, ‘난생처음: 난민과 국민, 공존과 협력의 시작’에서 출발한다.

The Republic of Korea has a history of being a refugee in the past, and it is a country with an obligation to implement international law. In this respect, this session will be focused on the global common refugee problem and the practical solution. In this session, the main focus is to figure out the direction to improve refugee perception with the current status of refugee awareness of the Korean people. In addition, it aims to provide an opportunity for refugees and citizens to reduce conflict and promote harmony. It starts with “For the First Time in Refugee Life: The Beginning of Coexistence and Cooperation Between Refugees and the Citizen.”
