15:20 ~ 16:50		[북한 비핵화 클러스터 Ⅱ] 비핵화 협상의 쟁점과 전망 [Denuclearization Cluster Ⅱ] Issues and Prospect for Denuclearization of North Korea	Halla
[Jeju Peace Institute 제주평화연구원] There had been much diplomatic efforts for the denuclearization of North Korea. We have observed some progress at this diplomatic front including several summit meetings among North and South Korea, the US, China and Russia. However, the fact that there has been no concrete agreement between the US and North Korea at the Hanoi Summit held in February foreshadowed pessimistic views on the complete denuclearization of the North. Moreover, the North is making the situation worse by making a jeopardizing move when it put on a show of force in May. This session is designed to share experts’ opinion on the current situation of Korean Peninsula and a prospect of denuclearization. 북한의 비핵화를 위한 다양한 외교적 노력이 진행되 고 있다. 지난 2월 27일 베트남 하노이에서 열린 북미 정상회담은 비핵화를 위한 실질적인 진전이 기대되었 으나, 아무런 합의가 없이 종료되었다. 하노이 회담 결 과 북한의 비핵화에 대한 의혹의 시선들이 있지만, 지 난 2018년 평창 동계올림픽 이후에 펼쳐졌던 외교적 노력을 계속 이어가면서 북한의 비핵화에 대한 의미 있는 결과를 만들어야 한다는 견해들도 있다. 그러나 북한이 5월 일종의 무력시위를 함으로써 남북한 교류 협력과 비핵화 협상 과정이 쉽지 않을 것임을 보여주 고 있다. 이번 세션에서는 북한의 비핵화에 대한 쟁점과 향후 전망에 대한 전문가들의 견해를 들어본다.
