[Cheju Halla University 제주한라대학교]<BR><BR>The Trump administration has led to a rise in uncertainty in the global economy. The growth and development of the world economy based on the post-war US-led world free trade system has led to the long-term deepening of US capital outflows. That, in turn, has led to a relative weakening of the US economy. Trump administration is likely to adopt a so-called “semi-free trade” policy that prioritizes its own interests. The Northeast Asian economy depends on international trade, and it maintains a surplus balance in it. As a result, the possible threat to the Northeast Asian economy is greater than ever. This change in the international economic environment is expected to create both great challenges and new opportunities for countries in the region, like Korea, China, and Japan, as well as the companies based in them. This session will discuss the impact of the “Trump Policy” on Northeast Asian economies and companies.<BR><BR>트럼프 정권 출범 후 세계 경제에 불확실성이 크게 증가하고 있다. 전후 미국 주도의 세계 자유무역 체제에 기초한 세계 경제의 성장과 발전은 미국의 자본 유출을 장기적으로 심화시켜 상대적으로 미국의 경제력 약화를 가져왔다. 이러한 상황에서 새롭게 등장한 트럼프 정권은 자국의 이익에 우선적으로 초점을 맞춘 소위 ‘반(半) 자유무역’ 정책을 강하게 추진할 것으로 보인다. 국제무역 의존도가 상대적으로 높고 상당한 규모의 국제수지 흑자를 누리고 있는 동북아 경제와 마찰을 일으킬 가능성이 과거 어느 때보다 높다. 한국, 중국, 일본 등 동북아 국가들과 기업들은 이러한 국제 경제 환경의 변화가 큰 도전일 뿐 아니라 새로운 기회로 작용할 수 있을 것이라 예상하고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 동북아 경제 및 기업들에게 미치는 ‘트럼프 정책’의 영향과 대응 전략을 논의하고, 이를 통해 앞으로의 협력 가능성을 도출하고자 한다.
