[UNITAR CIFAL Jeju / JITC UNITAR 제주국제연수센터] In 2015, ‘migration’ is included as a target 10.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A year later, in New York, the New York Declaration was announced to enhance international cooperation and solidarity for various aspects of migration and the significance of orderly, safe and responsible migration is magnified. In the Asia Pacific region, the volume of migrants is increasing each year. As the influence of migration is critical in departing countries and destination countries, the session will provide a platform to discuss and cooperate for implementation of orderly, safe and responsible migration. 2015년 UN에서 채택횐 17개 지속가능한발전목표 (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) 중 개별목표로 ‘이주’가 포함되었고 2016년 뉴욕에서 이주에 관한 다양한 측면과 사안에 대한 국제협력과 연대를 촉구하는 뉴욕선언이 발표된 이후 ‘질서있고 안전하며 정규적이고 책임감 있는 이주’의 중요성이 국제사회의 초국가적 의제로 부각되고 있다. 아시아태평양 지역의 이주민 수는 점점 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 이주의 증가가 송출국과 수용국에 미치는 영향이 커짐에 따라 상기 주제에 대한 논의의 필요성이 커지고 있다. 이에 아태지역 주요 송출국과 수용국이 어떻게 SDGs 개별목표 10.7의 이행을 위해 노력하고 있으며 어떠한 국가간 협력이 필요한지에 대한 논의의 장을 열고자 한다.
