미중 전략경쟁, 우크라이나 전쟁, 팬데믹, 기후변화 등 글로벌 도전에 대응하여 보편가치와 신뢰 기반의 외교가 점차 강조되고 있으며 가치를 공유하고 뜻을 같이 하는 국가들 간의 연대가 어느 때 보다 중요해 지고 있다. 이러한 시점에 국격에 걸맞은 글로벌 중추국가로서의 역할을 강화하고자 하는 대한민국은 글로벌 과제 해결에 기여하고 글로벌 네트워크를 강화하기 위하여 어떻게 공공외교정책을 수립하고 공공외교사업으로 시행할지 논의해 본다.

Diplomacy based on universal values and trust, and the coalition among the like-minded countries are more important than ever, facing global challenges including the US-China rivalry, the Russia-Ukrainian war, the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, etc. In this strategic environment, South Korea pursues its role in the international community to be strengthened as a global pivotal state.In this session, we will examine South Korea’s public diplomacy policy to meet the current needs and discuss how South Korea contributes to global agenda and strengthen strategic global networks through public diplomacy.
