[Youth Session 1] Inequality and Inclusive Prosperity		 Grand Ballroom
The current level of inequality in many countries is astonishing, and the recent pandemic crisis has exacerbated the gap between the rich and the poor. Moreover, inequality today seems to be much more complex. Economic inequality is still an important issue but intergenerational inequality, along with gender and ecological inequality, is also becoming a serious threat.
This session presents “inclusive prosperity” as the way forward in addressing inequality issues that young people are facing today, and discusses the role of government and academia in alleviating inequality.

오늘날 세계는 유례없는 불평등 문제를 겪고 있으며, 코로나19 팬데믹은 빈부 격차를 더욱 악화시켰다. 특히 청년들이 느끼는 불평등은 기존 세대가 경험했던 불평등에 비해 더 복잡한 양상을 띠고 있다. 최근 경제적 계층간 불평등 뿐 아니라 세대간 불평등이 중요한 문제로 대두되었으며, 젠더간 불평등, 생태적 불평등도 간과할 수 없는 문제가 되었다.
본 세션에서는 청년 세대가 겪고 있는 불평등 문제에 대한 대안으로 ‘포용적 번영’을 제시하고, 불평등 문제 완화를 위한 국가와 학계의 역할에 대해 논의할 예정이다.
