PARK, Jihang
President of the Northeast Asian History Foundation
Jihang Park graduated from the Department of Western History at Seoul National University and received her Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. As a historian specializing in British history, she lectured at Pratt Institute in New York and Inha University and served as a professor at SNU from 1992 to 2018. She held research positions at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and the University of Cambridge, Great Britain. She served as president of the British Historical Association of Korea, director of the Seoul National University Library, member of the National Institute of Korean History, and member of the Presidential Special Committee on Humanities and Culture. Her publications are prolific, including British History-The Drama of Conservatism and Reform, Imperialism, Tragic Ireland, The Road to Modernity, From Equality to Fairness, and Winston Churchill, Walking with Destiny.
