[Korea Institute for Defense Analyses 한국국방연구원] Denuclearization of North Korea is the key agenda for peaceful management of the Korean peninsula. As we are expected to prepare step-by-step as well as simultaneous measures for denuclearization, military confidence building should be an integral part of a denuclearization road-map. In particular, the two Koreas are likely to discuss concrete measures to decrease tension on the Korean peninsula in the coming months. In this session, we will discuss how to increase sustainability of peaceful settlement of the situation in a way not to undermine our current defense posture while reducing military tension. 한반도의 평화적 관리를 위한 비핵화 문제 해결은 당사국의 최우선 과제일 것이다. 향후 비핵화를 위한 단계적‧동시적 조치를 담은 로드맵을 준비하고 이행하는 과정에서 군사적 신뢰구축도 병행되어 논의될 수밖에 없을 것으로 예상된다. 본 세션에서는 향후 남북 간 군사적 위협 해소 방안이 향후 구체적으로 논의될 것으로 예상되므로, 어떻게 비핵화 단계에서 군사적 신뢰를 증진시켜 지속가능한 평화 정착을 유도할 것인지, 어떤 조치가 방어태세를 줄이지 않으면서 군사적 긴장을 줄일 것인지 등을 논의한다.
