제2차 세계대전 관련 미해결 문제에 대한 새로운 논의의 장 모색

The vestiges of past war crimes still remain in the East Asia Region. While Korea and Japan reached a landmark agreement to resolve the issue of ‘comfort women’ on December 28, 2015, a significant disagreement exists with regard to the means of providing compensation and an official apology to the victims. This session attempts to examine such issues from the legal perspectives and provide a number of possible solutions.

동아시아 지역에서는 여전히 제2차 세계대전 종결 및 그 이후의 처리 과정에서 제기되는 다양한 법적 쟁점에 대하여 관련 국가 간 논의가 이루어지고 있다. 2015년 12월 28일 일본군 위안부 피해자 문제와 관련하여 한국과 일본 양국 간 합의가 이루어졌지만 피해자 보상 방안 등 그 이행에 대한 구체적인 내용이 미진하다는 평가를 받고 있다. 본 세션에서는 이처럼 전후 처리과정에서 제기되는 다양한 논의들에 대해 국내·외 전문가의 의견을 들어보는 기회를 제공한다.
