The Jeju Forum started as a regional multilateral dialogue for promoting peace and prosperity in East Asia. The Forum serves as a platform for world leaders and other high-profile participants to discuss and share visions on various issues in the region. It provides profound insights into the world and contributes to cooperation and development in Asia.

보다 나은 미래를 위해 내가 꾸는 꿈
[Jeju Special Self-Governing Province & World Culture Open(WCO)]

People in and out of Jeju see the future of island as the world’s renowned Island of Arts and Culture where people from all over the world come for healing, inspiration and insight. In May 2015, the World Culture Open (WCO) and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province made a proclamation that they support the island’s future and will partner and collaborate to pursue the common goal.
As part of the effort, the WCO and Jeju Province started a Session on Culture at the Jeju Forum and has
been jointly organizing the session with a plan to develop it into a creative global culture forum. Last year, Culture Designers from the Island shared with public their stories as a forest storyteller or interview writer who collects lifetime stories of local grandmas and grandpas.
This year, Culture Designers from six countries are invited to unfold the stories and expectations on what they dream of for the better future in diverse topics, including social, environmental, health and arts
sectors. After individual speeches, participants will put together the puzzle of what they have each suggested, trying to shape out the bigger picture of our better tomorrow through open dialogue.

*Culture Designer means an everyday hero, a creative and charming citizen, who is harnessing his or her talent and passion to make the world a better place for all.

2015년 5월 월드컬처오픈과 제주특별자치도는 제주도를 세계인이 치유와 영감을 얻기 위해 찾아오는 문화예술의
섬으로 만들기 위한 도민 공동 인식 제고에 협력하기로 선언하였다. 그 일환으로 제주포럼 내 문화세션을 만들었다. 제10회 제주포럼에서는 숲을 이야기하는 숲 해설가, 할망과 하르방의 인생이야기를 담아내는 인터뷰 작가 등
제주도내에서 묵묵히 활동하는 컬처디자이너들의 이야기를 청중들과 나눈 바 있다.
올해는 사회, 환경, 예술, 건강, 문화 분야에서 보다 나은 미래를 꿈꾸며 창의적인 시도를 해온 국내외 6개국 청년 컬처디자이너 6인을 초청하여 그들의 이야기를 듣고 열린 대화를 통해 희망찬 문화도시 제주의 모습을 함께
그려본다.
