The importance of coexistence between human and nature is being to be more enlarged than before in the 21st century. Some areas are not developed entirely whereas another region is a megalopolis. This let us deeply think about what is the essential of humanity. In this session, we would like to contribute to the Asian-Pacific regions’peace and prosperity by the proposal of international cooperation for the recognition and conservation of potential world natural heritage sites (volcanoes and marine environments, etc.), which have outstanding universal values in Asian-Pacific regions.

21세기 들어 자연과 인간의 공존의 중요성은 날로 커져가고 있다. 어느 한 지역은 천연 그대로의 미개발지인 반면 또 다른 곳은 초거대 도시화로 인간 삶의 편리함이 확대됨과 동시에 한 생명체로서의 인류의 본질은 무엇인가에 대한 심각한 고민을 던져주고 있다. 이 세션에서는 교통과 통신의 발달, 국가 간 교역 증가, 대규모 개발과 관광산업 등으로 쉽게 잊혀지고 파괴될 우려가 큰 아시아·태평양 지역에 존재하는 화산지형과 다양한 해양환경의 탁월한 보편적 가치를 지닌 잠재적인 지역을 발굴하고 이를 세계유산으로 보전하기 위한 국가 간 협력 방안을 제시함으로써 아시아-태평양 지역의 평화와 번영에 기여하고자 한다.
