[Korea Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation(KCRC)] It requires diverse channels of communication and exchanges based on multilateral cooperation, instead of the individual security policies of each state, to resolve the challenges to the global security, including the growing threats of terrorism and the North Korean nuclear issue that has troubled Northeast Asia for a long time. This session will explore potential ways of fostering multilateral cooperation between Korea and its neighboring countries to develop and realize a new leadership in the face of rapidly changing situations in the world. In addition, we will examine how the inter-Korean issue affects other Northeast Asian countries the global society on a larger scale, and what kinds of interactions it produces in the context of international relations. We are also set to assess the possibilities of an improvement in inter-Korean relations through enhanced international cooperation as well as the possibilities that the improved inter-Korean relations may contribute to peace in Northeast Asia and the world. 동북아 차원의 오랜 해결과제인 북핵문제와 더불어 최근 심각성을 더해가고 있는 테러리즘 등 세계적 차원의 안보문제를 해결하기 위해서는 기존에 각국이 추구했던 독자적 안보관에서 벗어나 다자협력을 중심으로 다양한 분야의 상호 소통과 교류가 필요한 상황이다. 이처럼 변화하는 국제정세 속에서 새로운 리더십을 구축하고 실현하기 위해 한반도를 둘러싼 주변국의 이해관계 및 실현 가능한 다자 협력방안을 모색해 보고자 한다. 또한 한반도 문제가 동북아시아 주변국, 나아가 전 세계에 어떤 영향을 미치고 또 받고 있는지, 국제관계 속에서 한반도 문제의 상호작용을 고찰해보고, 국제적 협력과 소통을 통한 남북관계 진전과 통일, 역으로 남북관계 진전과 변화를 통한 동북아, 세계평화 기여의 실현가능성을 진단해 본다.
