FORUM

The 7th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity reviewed these changes within historic context and highlight the future of Asia. The work of the forum was to pursue peace and common prosperity of the region on the basis of a sense of community. The interdependence and cultural fusion in Asia are surely contribute to the promotion of this sense of community. The issue of common prosperity was addressed and the potentiality of new growth on the basis of Asian entrepreneurship was explored. New growth engines, future of the IT industry, environmental conservation, sustainable management, financial cooperation, official development assistance, welfare expansion, city design, and the role of women are among the forum's topic.

Digital technology provides easy opportunities for the production, distribution and utilization of information (literary works or content), but the legalities are unable to match the advances in technology. Thus information producers are not receiving a corresponding reward for the production of information, and illegitimate use by of said information by others often leads to a problematic cycle for the production and utilization of information. To solve this, a virtuous-circle of production, distribution and utilization of information should be built for the protection of information producers, providing legal distribution channels for wide use and ensuring the production of new information. This session will discuss the legal status and direction for improvement of effective production, distribution and utilization of information in the digital environment.

디지털 기술은 정보(저작물 또는 콘텐츠)의 생산·유통·활용을 보다 용이하게 할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있으나 법·제도는 기술의 발전을 따라가지 못하고 있습니다. 이에 따라 정보 생산자는 생산에 대한 보상을 받지 못하고 이용자는 정보를 적법하게 이용하지 못함으로써, 정보의 생산 및 활용이 악화되는 악순환 상태에 빠지게 됩니다. 이를 위해서는 정보 생산자를 보호하고 정보의 적법 유통경로를 마련하여 정보가 광범위하게 활용되고 이에 바탕을 두어 새로운 정보를 생산하도록 함으로써 생산-유통-활용의 선순환 구조를 구축하여야 합니다. 본 세션에서는 디지털환경 하에서 정보의 효과적인 생산·유통·활용을 위한 법제도 현황과 개선방향을 논의합니다.
