한국과 중국은 가까운 이웃으로서, 또한 국제사회의 주요 구성원으로서 지역과 세계 평화에 기여할 수 있는 역량을 가진 국가들이다. 우리는 코로나19 팬데믹을 겪으며 지역 차원의 협력이 국제문제 해결을 위해 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 경험했다. 특히 지역 안보와 양국이 공통으로 안고 있는 사회 문제들의 해결을 위해 여러 층위의 논의가 활성화될 필요가 있다. 동 세션에서는 포스트 팬데믹 시대, 한중 간 협력의 기회 요인과 선결 과제들에 대해 논의하고자 한다. 대면회의가 본격화되는 2023 제주포럼이 양국 전문가들 간의 논의 활성화와 신뢰 구축의 계기가 되기를 기대한다.

South Korea and China are close neighbors, as well as major countries in the international community capable of contribution to regional & global peace. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we have experienced that cooperation at the regional level plays important role in dealing with global challenges. In particular, discussions at various levels need to be activated to tackle regional security and social issues that the two countries being faced.
In this session,we will take a look at the opportunities and primary tasks for cooperation between Korea and China in the post-COVID era. We hope that the 2023 Jeju Forum, where face-to-face meetings start in earnest, will serve as an opportunity to revitalize discussions and build trust between experts from both countries.
