탄소중립과 한국의 전략: 국제규범 준수와 기업의 대응 Carbon Neutrality and Korea's Strategy: Compliance with International Norms and Corporate Response |
삼다홀 Samda |
Climate change has become the most urgent task facing humanity on a global scale. Carbon neutrality is becoming an international norm. Economies and technologies that are not carbon neutral have become unsustainable. Furthermore, competition as well as technological innovation is occurring rapidly among countries in order to realize this norm. The perception of all stakeholders, including international investors and consumers, has also changed. In this panel, we are going to analyze the regulatory policies of major countries for carbon neutrality and discuss what the Korean government and companies have to do with them. Korea, which has a low proportion of renewable energy and a high proportion of carbon dioxide emissions, is already facing a big challenge. The United States, China, and the EU, on the other hand, are leading the competition for technological innovation and standards for carbon neutrality. As a country that heavily depends on exports, Korea could soon face great difficulties in exporting major products if the country fall behind these trends. Whether and how Korea can lead the way in industries such as automobiles, semiconductors, and batteries, while following international norms of carbon neutrality, will determine the sustainability of the Korean economy. |
