ESG는 환경(environment), 사회(social), 지배구조(governance)의 머리글자로 기업이 비재무적 요소를 보여주는 지표입니다. 같은 돈을 벌어도 해당 기업의 생산과 얼마나 친환경적인지, 직원과 주주와 고객의 만족도를 얼마나 높이는지, 공동체의 지속가능성에 얼마나 기여하는지 등을 고려하겠다는 의미가 담겨있습니다.
지금 ESG에 소홀한 기업은 감내해야 할 불이익이 상당합니다. 우선 주가 관리가 어렵습니다. 단적으로 국민연금은 ESG를 투자의 기본원칙으로 밝혔습니다. 글로벌 기업과의 협업도 힘듭니다. 미국과 유럽의 기업들은 협력 시 ESG 실적을 요구하고 있습니다.
한국경제매거진은 무크‘ESG : 개념부터 실무까지’를 시작으로 2021년 7월부터 매월 ‘한경ESG’를 발간하고 있습니다. ESG 콘텐츠 부문에서 국내에서 가장 큰 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 한국경제매거진은 함께 콘텐츠를 만들고 있는 전문 위원과 전문 기자들이 세션에 참석해 ESG와 기업 경영의 미래를 논의해보고자 합니다.

ESG stands for environment, society, and governance, which are indicators of companies' non-financial elements. Recently, ESG becomes more essential for companies in accordance with the growing importance of eco-friendly production processes and demands for the contribution to the sustainability of the society.
Companies that neglect ESG right now would have a significant disadvantage to bear. First of all, stock price management is difficult. For instance, the National Pension Service has announced that they will take into account ESG as a basic principle of investment. Second, collaboration with global companies would become also tough. Companies in the U.S. and Europe are demanding ESG performance when collaborating.
The Korea Economic Magazine has been publishing 'Hankyung ESG' every month since July 2021, starting with a book titled 'ESG: From Concept to Practice'. The Korea Economic Magazine has the largest competitiveness in the ESG content sector in Korea with a professional journalists and experts who are creating contents together. The Korea Economic Magazine would like to participate as a part of the session in order to discuss the future of ESG and how to manage ESG factors in a more efficient way.
