2023년 한국과 유럽연합(EU)은 수교 60주년을 맞이한다. 윤석열 신정부는 110대 국정과제를 통해 대외정책의 근간을 제시한 바 있는데, 함께 번영하는 지역별 협력 네트워크 구축 (97), 능동적 경제 안보 외교 추진 (98), 국격에 걸맞은 글로벌 중추 국가 역할 강화 (99) 등에서 유럽연합과의 협력은 선택이 아닌 필수로 간주되고 있다. 따라서 기존의 다자간 협력체제에서 자국 우선주의와 이익 블록화 시대로 전이되고 있는 오늘의 현실에서 뜻을 같이하는 유럽과의 전략적 협력이 중요시되고 있으며, 안보 분야에서도 새로운 협력이 기대되고 있다. 본 세션에서는 외교관과 전문학자 및 관련 단체의 대표자가 참석하여 갈등을 넘어 평화를 향한 공존과 협력을 모색하는 자리가 될 것이다.

In 2023, Korea and the European Union will commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations. The newly inaugurated Yoon Suk-yeol administration of Korea published 110 Key policy agendas which include ‘co-prosperous regional network building’,‘proactive economic security diplomacy’and ‘strengthening role of Korea as Global Pivot State’. Against the backdrop of increasing nation-state-centrism and bloc realignment based on interests, we believe that it is all the more important to enhance strategic cooperation with like-minded partners such as EU. In this session, representatives from both public sector, academia and NGOs will gather together to discuss how to explore co-existence and further promote cooperation beyond conflict.
