World Leaders Session: Towards New Leadership for Multilateral Cooperation 		Crystal Ballroom
Due to the recent surge of nationalism and unilateral policies by some countries and the spread of COVID-19 the world’s multilateral cooperation is in grave danger. Achieving cooperation and co-prosperity seem highly challenging with the distance among countries growing further apart. Against this backdrop, the US Presidential Election on November 3rd will draw the keen attention of the international community on its far-reaching impact on all of us.

We believe that the international community should ride the tide of changes and leaders should exert their leadership to actively respond to the challenges. At this critical juncture, differentiated leadership is required to turn this crisis into an opportunity.

In this session, world leaders gather to discuss the ways to restore multilateralism. They will focus on unilateral policies of the Great Powers, and means to build solidarity among middle powers. Through specific solutions and counsel suggested by leaders in this session, we will regain an optimistic prospect of the future of the world’s multilateralism.

주요 강대국들의 자국 우선주의적 정책들이 더욱 거세어지고 세계적으로 확산되고 있는 코로나19로 인해 국가 간의 다자협력 체제는 더욱 위협받고 있다. 국가 간의 거리가 확대되고 있는 현재, 협력과 상생은 그 어느 때보다 어려운 과제처럼 보인다. 이러한 상황속에서 11월 3일 실시되는 미국 대선이 국제정세에 어떠한 영향을 끼치게 될지 주목된다.

혼란과 위기에 직면한 때일수록 변화에 소극적이어서는 안된다. 위기를 기회로 전환하기 위한 새로운 리더십의 구상이 시급하다.

이 세션에서는 세계적인 지도자들이 한자리에 모여 다자주의를 복원하기 위한 정책들을 논의할 것이다. 강대국들의 일방적 자국 우선주의에 대응하기 위한 중견국 간의 연대와 이를 위한 협력적 리더십에 주목할 예정이다. 이를 위한 리더들의 구체적인 해법과 조언을 통해 다자협력에 대한 낙관론을 되찾고자 한다.
