[신남방정책특별위원회] President Moon Jae-in made public his New Southern Policy(NSP) for strengthening the ties with ASEAN and India. With a people-centered approach, the policy is expected to promote the mutually beneficial cooperation with ASEAN and India. As the control tower of the NSP, the presidential committee on NSP is developing the core concepts and strategies, and identifying joint projects to be pursued by the departments to realize the people-centered community of peace and prosperity. This session will discuss how the leaders of ASEAN see the NSP and how South Korea and ASEAN can cooperate in economic aspect, and what the tasks for the future cooperation. 2017년, 문재인 대통령은 신남방 정책을 공식적으로 천명하며 아세안과 인도와의 협력을 강화할 것을 밝 혔다. 경제협력의 다변화 등의 관점에서, 신남방지역 은 우리경제에 있어 중요성이 강조되고 있는 지역으 로, 이에 신남방 정책은 아세안, 인도와 상생번영을 주 도하여 대한민국 경제에 중요한 역할을 할 정책으로 기대된다. 신남방 정책의 컨트롤타워인 신남방정책특 별위원회는, 신남방 정책 추진방향 설정과 전략수립, 사업발굴 등을 통해 사람중심의 평화와 번영의 공동 체를 달성하고자 한다. 이번 제주포럼 신남방 세션에서는 아세안 주요 인사 들을 초대하여 이 지역의 지도자들은 신남방 정책을 어떻게 체감하는지, 그리고 양 지역이 상생을 위해 경 제적으로 협력할 수 있는 방법과 과제는 무엇인지 파 악하고 실질적 협력방안을 도출하고자 한다.
