Direction of Creating Smart City in Jeju 		202B
[Jeju Development Institute 제주발전연구원]<BR><BR>Recently, Jeju has been positively effected in the regional economy by the aspects of population growth, but also faced problems in areas of residence, traffic, energy and waste management. Due to limited resources and existing urban infrastructure in Jeju, it is important to come up with a new strategy that could solve this problem. In line of such process, the importance of the ‘Smart City’ concept is becoming more and more emphasized. A smart city is an urban development vision to integrate multiple information and communication technology (ICT) and enables both sustainable development of economy and enhancing the quality of life. A smart city bases ICT and convergence technology that would open up the connections to the new industry of Jeju, such as tourism. In this session, Jeju Development Institute intends to seek the direction of constructing the Jeju Smart City.<BR><BR>제주는 최근 인구증가 등 지역경제 측면에서 긍정적인 변화가 있는 한편 주거, 교통, 에너지, 폐기물 등의 분야에서는 문제가 야기되고 있다. 문제를 해결 하려면 제주의 한정된 자원과 기존 도시기반시설 등을 활용하는 전략이 필요하며, 이러한 전략을 실현 하기 위해 ‘스마트 시티’라는 개념이 중요해지고 있다. 스마트 시티는 지속적인 경제발전과 삶의 질 향상을 동시에 이룰 수 있는 미래형 도시로 정보통신 기술이 적용되는 도시를 말한다. 또한 정보통신기술 및 융합기술이 기반이 되어 제주의 관광산업 등 신산업의 연계가 가능한 도시다. 이 세션을 통해 제주발전연구원은 제주 스마트 시티 조성 방향에 대해 모색하려 한다.
