[6-E] Korean Unification and International Community: Role of International Media
한반도 통일과 국제사회: 국제 언론의 역할

This session seeks to open the platform to discuss the future-oriented steps for Korean unification. Prominent foreign journalists via the KF Invitation Program will participate in this session to discuss and share their views and visions for the unification of the Korean Peninsula. It is expected that this discussion will build a common understanding of Korean unification and search for the ways to cooperate for it in the international community.
Dozens of journalists, columnists, and CEOs of media companies from more than twenty countries including the United States, Switzerland, and Egypt will take part in a discussion on Korean unification diplomacy. An introductory presentation given by Kim Jaechun, Professor of the Graduate School of International Studies, Sogang University, will be followed by a discussion among multinational journalists on Korean unification diplomacy.

한국국제교류재단의 해외 유력인사 초청사업의 일환으로 방한하는 해외 언론계 저명인사(여론주도층)를 대상으로 한반도 평화통일의 비전과 우리의 정책을 공유함으로써 한반도 통일에 대한 국제사회의 이해를 제고하고 국제 인프라를 구축하기 위한 논의를 활성화하고자 한다.
이 세션에는 미국, 스위스, 이집트 등 20여 개국 언론사 사장, 기자, 칼럼니스트 등이 참석하여 한국의 통일 외교에 대한 논의를 펼친다. 김재천 서강대학교 국제대학원 교수의 ‘한반도 통일과 국제사회’에 대한 발표에 이어 각국 언론인들이 한국의 통일외교에 대한 토론을 벌인다.
