제주는 인도-태평양 지역의 중앙에 위치하면서 아세안을 넘어 아랍으로 향하는 대한민국의 출발점으로 도약하고 있다. 특히 오영훈 제주특별도지사는 아세안플러스알파(ASEAN+α) 구상을 통해 아세안과 아랍 국가들과 교류협력 촉진하며 평화와 번영을 증진하고 있다. 주한 아세안 및 아랍 대사단이 참여하는 이 특별 네트워킹 세션에서는 아세안플러스알파 구상을 추진하고 있는 오영훈 제주특별자치도지사의 비전을 공유하고 상호협력을 위한 아이디어를 교환하고자 한다.

Jeju has been facilitating its trade and cultural exchange with the ASEAN and Arab nations through its "ASEAN+α" initiative, based on the idea of Jeju not simply as the center of the Indo-Pacific but as South Korea’s key base toward ASEAN and Arab for advancing peace and prosperity. In this special networking session, Governor OH Young Hun will share his vision of the "ASEAN+α" policy and explore opportunities for promoting trade and cultural exchange with ASEAN and Arab Ambassadors to Korea.
