Ministry of Foreign Affairs		 한미 정상회담의 성과 및 이행 – 백신‧우주‧기후변화‧신흥기술분야 과학기술외교를 중심으로
Reviewing Outcomes of Korea-US Summit and Exploring Measures for Implementations Focusing on Science & Technology Diplomacy in the areas of Vaccine, Space, Climate Change and Emerging Technologies		 Diamond Hall B
At the ROK-US summit meeting held by the President Moon’s visit to Washington D.C. (from May 19 – 21), two leaders discussed the ways to address global issues such as COVID-19 response, climate change, space and science & technology.
In particular, major outcomes in those areas include agreement on establishing the KORUS Global Vaccine Partnership, strengthening their cooperation in space issues by ROK’s participation in the Artemis Accords, pledging the practical cooperation for responding to the climate crisis and reinforcing their partnership on emerging technologies.
This session will review the outcomes of the ROK-US summit in the context of science and technology, and discuss the way forward to ROK’s science and technology diplomacy through bilateral cooperation between both countries in the process of their implementations.

문재인 대통령의 방미(5.19~21) 계기 한-미 정상회담에서는 COVID-19, 기후변화, 우주 및 과학기술 등 글로벌 이슈에 대한 협력 방안들이 폭넓게 논의되었다.
특히 과학기술 분야 주요 성과로 한미 글로벌 백신 파트너십 구축 합의, 아르테미스 약정 참여 등 우주 분야 협력 강화, 기후위기 대응을 위한 실질적 협력 약속, 신흥기술 분야 파트너십 강화 등이 있다.
이 세션에서는 이번 한미 정상회담의 과학기술 분야 성과를 평가하고 향후 이행과정에서 한미간 협력을 통한 우리의 과학기술외교의 나아갈 방향을 논의해 보고자 한다.
