At the forum, domestic and international participants from 60 sessions dealt with various issues ranging from international cooperation & security, economy & business, culture, gender, community development, and the environment, and had wide discussions on regional and global cooperation and challenges beyond the Asia’s paradox for new Asia. And the Trilateral cooperation Secretariat participated in the forum for the first time, organizing 3 concurrent sessions, and contributed to the Jeju Forum’s goal of peace and prosperity in Korea, Japan, and China.

[Jeju Special Self-Governing Province] The East China Sea is extremely important area among Korea, China and Japan in for development and prosperity. The East China Sea is not only the main trade passage around the three countries but also important regional fisheries resources. In addition, the East China Sea is a large impact on the climate because this Pacific region has warm current and through the typoon route. In particular, as a result of climate change and dam construction are rapidly changing ocean conditions today and this situation increasingly subjected impacts and concerns. In the case of the East China Sea, as the boundary between the neighboring countries is ambiguous, international cooperation and research need to be increased. This session will present the ongoing international cooperation for the research on the East China Sea, and seek ways and subjects to further develop. 동중국해는 이를 둘러싼 한국과 중국 및 일본의 발전과 번영에 극히 중요한 해역입니다. 이는 주변 3국이 세계로 향하는 교역의 통로이고, 중요한 수산자원들이 부존하고 회유하는 해역이며, 태평양의 난류가 유입하고 태풍이 통과하여 기후에 큰 영향을 미치는 해역이기도 합니다. 특히, 기후온난화와 댐 건설 등으로 인해 해양 조건들이 급격히 변화하는 최근에는 그 의존성이 더욱 커지고 있습니다. 동중국해의 경우 인접한 국가들 사이의 관할해역 경계가 획정되지 않았기 때문에 국제적 연구협력의 필요성이 더욱 크게 대두되고 있습니다. 이에 따라 현재 동중국해 해역에서 이루어지고 있는 국제적 연구협력의 실상을 개관하고 앞으로 이를 발전시켜야 할 연구 분야와 협력방안을 모t색하고자 합니다.
