[Jeju Peace Institute 제주평화연구원] The Jeju Forum 2019 introduces a theme of “Asia Towards Resilient Peace: Cooperation and Integration.” Resilient peace is a concept referring to the consolidation of peace, including the establishment of a dispute prevention system, as well as economic development, in addition to the efforts to secure safety and stability through trust-based dialogue in areas where conflicts are likely to occur. Diplomacy will play an especially vital role for Asia as it Asia strives to find its way towards resilient peace. This session will provide a venue for ambassadors to weigh in on how diplomacy can contribute to establishing resilient peace on the Korean peninsula and throughout Asia. 2019 제주포럼은 “아시아 회복탄력적 평화를 향하여: 협력과 통합”을 대주제로 역내 국가들이 안보의 위협 요인을 해소하는 것은 물론 경제적 발전을 정착시키 고, 나아가서 분쟁재발을 방지하는 제도적 장치에 대 한 합의를 도출하는 데에 기여하고자 한다. 위협요인 의 해소와 분쟁재발을 방지하기 위해 외교가 중요함 은 재론할 필요가 없다. 본 라운드테이블은 주요국의 주한대사를 초청해 아시아의 회복탄력적 평화를 위해 서 필요하고 바람직한 외교의 역할과 과제에 대해 논의한다.
