[Ministry of Foreign Affairs 외교부]<BR><BR>Terrorist groups are using the Internet and social media for propaganda purposes and terrorist recruitment. In this context, developing counter-narratives is becoming increasingly important for preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE). This session aims at discussing ways to develop effective counter-narratives, sharing best practices, and providing policy recommendations for PCVE with experts from the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED), Hedayah Center and etc. This session will be held back to back with the ‘Asia ICT and Counter-Terrorism Dialogue,’ which will be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the CTED from 29 to 30 May in Jeju. <BR><BR>오늘날 테러단체들은 인터넷이나 소셜미디어를 악 용해 선전이나 전투원 모집 등 폭력적 극단주의를 조장하고 있다. 따라서 폭력적 극단주의 대응 및 예 방을 위해 테러단체 대응논리 개발이 점차 중요해지고 있다. 이 세션에서는 유엔 대테러사무국(CTED), 헤다야센터를 비롯한 전문가들과 함께 아시아 지 역 내 효과적인 테러단체 대응논리 개발 방안을 알아보고 모범 사례를 공유하는 한편 정책 제안을 논 의하고자 한다. 이번 세션은 5월 29일부터 30일까 지 제주에서 외교부-유엔 대테러사무국(CTED) 공동 주최로 개최되는 ‘테러단체의 ICT 악용 방지 아시아회의(Asia ICT and Counter-Terrorism Dialogue)’와 연계해 개최된다.
