FORUM

At the forum, domestic and international participants from 60 sessions dealt with various issues ranging from international cooperation & security, economy & business, culture, gender, community development, and the environment, and had wide discussions on regional and global cooperation and challenges beyond the Asia’s paradox for new Asia. And the Trilateral cooperation Secretariat participated in the forum for the first time, organizing 3 concurrent sessions, and contributed to the Jeju Forum’s goal of peace and prosperity in Korea, Japan, and China.

Lately, although large-scale new & renewable energy projects are underway to reduce the effects of global warming, they are having difficulties in proceeding due to the local acceptance. As a solution to this challenge, distributed generation has been suggested, which are already activated in foreign countries. Therefore, Jeju Energy Corporation (JEC) will analyze the community wind power cases in foreign countries for constructing carbon free island, and consider a way to apply it to Jeju and Asia.

최근 지구온난화를 지연시키기 위한 대단위 신재생에너지 발전소가 추진 중에 있지만 주민 수용성에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있습니다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 분산발전이 화두가 되고 있으며, 현재 외국에서는 이미 활성화 되고 있습니다. 따라서 제주에너지공사에서는 탄소 없는 섬을 구축하기 위하여 외국의 주민 참여형 풍력발전 사업을 분석하고, 이를 제주도 및 아시아에 확산 할 수 있는 방안을 마련하고자 합니다.
