Saskia E. Wieringa is a honorary Emeritus Professor at the University of Amsterdam. She is also the co-founder and presently secretary of the Kartini Asia Network. Since the late 1970s she has done research on women’s movements, sexual politics and same-sex relations in many parts of the world, particularly in Indonesia. She chairs the International People's Tribunal on the 1965 Crimes Against Humanity in Indonesia and co-organized the Tribunal on that topic, held in November 2015. She wrote and (co-) edited more than 30 books and over 200 articles. The latest books include: (2012 co-edited with Nursyahbani Katjasungkana) The Future of Asian Feminisms; (2013 co-edited with Horacio Sivori) Sexual Politics in the Global South and (2013, co-edited with Maznah Mohamad, Family ambiguity and domestic violence in Asia: concept, law and process. Sussex Academic Publishers; Heteronormativity in Asia (2015 Sussex Academic Press). Saskia Wieringa received various awards for her scholarly work. Her recent research projects focus on sexual relations in historical perspective in Indonesia and on the post-1965 violence in East Java. Forthcoming is 'Imagined evil; Propaganda and the Indonesian genocide' Routledge.


사스키아 위어링가 암스테르담 대학 명예교수는 카르티니 아시아 네트워크(Kartini Asia Network)의 공동 창립자이며 현재 사무총장을 맡고 있다. 1970년대 후반부터 세계 여러 지역에서 특히 인도네시아의 여성운동, 성 정치 및 동성애 관계에 관한 연구를 수행했다. 1965년 인도네시아 인권 범죄에 관한 국제인민법원 (International People 's Tribunal) 의장을 맡아 2015 년 11 월 개최된 재판을 공동으로 조직하였다. 30권 이상의 책과 200 편이 넘는 기사를 썼으며 최신 저서는 누라샤바니 카트자숭카나(Nursyahbani Katjasungkana)와 공동 편집한 The Future of Asian Feminisms (2012); 호라시오 시보리(Horacio Sivori) 와 공동 편집한 Sexual Politics in the Global South (2013); 마즈나 모하마드(Maznah Mohamad)와 공동 편집한 Family ambiguity and domestic violence in Asia: concept, law and process (2013); Heteronormativity in Asia (2015) 등이 있다. 사스키아 위어링가는 활발한 학술 활동으로 다양한 상을 수상했다. 최근 연구 프로젝트는 역사적인 관점으로 1965년 이후에 있었던 인도네시아 자바 지역의 폭력 사태에 대한 성 연구에 초점을 맞추고 있다.
