Dr. J. James KIM is the director of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC and research fellow in the American Politics and Policy Program at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies (Seoul). He is also a lecturer in the Executive Master of Public Administration program at Columbia University. Previously, Dr. Kim was an assistant professor of political science at the California State Polytechnic University (Pomona). He also served as a summer research associate at the RAND Corporation and as a statistical consultant for the Institute for Social and Economic Research and Planning at the School of International and Public Affairs in Columbia University. His primary research interests include political economy, energy, security, public opinion, democracy, methodology, and media. Dr. Kim received a B.S. and M.S. in industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in political science from Columbia University.

Columbia University 국제대학원 겸임 강사이다. Cornell University에서 노사관계 학사
와 석사학위를 마치고 Columbia University에서 정치학 박사학위를 취득하였다. California
State Polytechnic University, Pomona의 조교수(2008~2012)와 랜드연구소의 Summer
연구원(2003~2004) 등을 역임한 바 있다. 주요연구 분야는 비교민주주의 제도, 무역, 방
법론, 공공정책 등이다.
