Born in 1947. Educated at Seoul National University (BA), University of Michigan (Ph.D.). Taught Business Management at Yonsei University (1978-2003). During at Yonsei, served as Dean of the Graduate School of Business Administration and College of Business and Economics (1997-2002), Visiting Professor at KAIST College of Business (2011-2017). Board Member of Community Chest of Korea, President of Korean Academy of International Business, Founding President of Korean Association of Non-Profit Organization Research. (2001-2003), President of Korean Academic Society of Business Administration (2004-2005). President, Samsung Economic Research Institute (2003-2008). At present, Executive Advisor of Samsung Economic Research Institute, International Board Member of United Way International, Board Member of Korea Research Foundation. President of Korean Association of Business Education Accreditation
