Lee, Sang Kil, former Vice Minister, Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries(MIFAFF), graduated from Seoul National University in 1982, and entered the public office at once. He served in Ministry of Agriculture about 30 years. In 2013, he retired from public office with the last as a vice minister of MIFAFF.

While in the Ministry of Agriculture, he holds key positions in the rice, livestock, and food sectors where there are many pending issues in Korean agriculture. For this reason, he is a professional official who has long experienced the field and policies of the agricultural and food sectors in Korea.

After retiring, he served as the head of IPET, a public organization that supported the planning, management and evaluation of R&D projects for the development of agricultural and food science technologies for three years from December 2013.

Currently, he is a professor at Konkuk University who is responsible for the Community Business Center, which was founded to develop a business model for co-development of universities and communities.

이상길 농림부 전 차관은 1982년 서울대학교 사회교육과를 졸업하고 바로 공직에 입문하여 약30년간 농림부에 재직하였으며, 지난 2013년 농림수산식품부 제1차관을 마지막으로 공직을 퇴임하였습니다.

농림부 재직 중에는 주로 현안이 많은 식량, 축산, 식품 분야에서 과장, 국장 , 실장 등 주요 보직을 역임하면서 우리나라 농식품분야의 현장과 정책을 두루 경험한 전문관료입니다.

이상길 전 차관은 퇴임 후 2013년 12월부터 3년간 농림식품과학기술 육성을 위한 연구개발사업의 기획, 관리 및 평가를 지원하는 공공기관인 농림수산식품기술기획평가원 원장으로 재직하면서 한국의 농식품 분야 과학기술발전에 크게 기여한 바 있습니다.

현재는 건국대학교에서 대학과 지역사회의 공동발전을 위한 비즈니스모델을 개발하기 위해 설립된 커뮤니티 비즈니스(CB) 센터 교수로 재직하고 있습니다.
