브라이언 멀로니는 제18대 캐나다 총리이다. 1983년 진보보수당 당수로 당선되기 전 그는 기업경영자로 다년간 근무했다. 1984년, 총선에서는 역대 최다석을 확보해 캐나다 선거사상 최대 승리자가 된다. 이후 1993년까지 약 9년간 총리를 지냈다. 임기 중, 대표적인 업적으로는 88년 미국과 맺은 자유무역협정과 91년 도입한 연방부가세가 있다. 공산품에만 적용되던 부가세를 모든 상품으로 확장시킨 이 세금은 재정적자를 줄이는 데 크게 기여했다. 멀로니는 퇴직 후 노튼 로즈 풀브라이트 로펌의 선임 파트너 변호사로 재직하고 있으며, 퀘벡커(Quebecor Inc.)등 여러 글로벌 기업에 이사, 자문 등을 맡고 있다.

Brian Mulroney was the 18th Prime Minister of Canada. Before entering politics by becoming Party Leader in 1983, Mulroney practised law in Motreal and served as President of the Iron Ore Company of Canada. In 1984, Mulroney led the Progressive Conservative party to winning the largest majority government in Canadian history. He served as Prime Minister for nearly 9 years until 1993. His government introduced bold new initiatives such as the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and the North American Free Trade Agreement(NAFTA). Mulroney's government also introduced a series of privatizations, a low inflation policy, tax reform, extensive deregulation and expenditure reduction policies that contributed to Canada's economic performance today. Upon resigning, Mulroney rejoined the Montreal law firm of Norton Rose Fullbright as senior partner. He holds various leadership positions, such as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quebecor Inc. and advises to many international companies.
