DR. Raden Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa KCMG served as Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia from 2009 to 2014. He served as Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the UN in New York (2007-2009). During that time he served, as President of the Security Council in November 2007. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Court of St. James and Ireland. From 2002 to 2005, he served as Chief of Staff of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Director General for ASEAN Cooperation; and Spokesperson of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He also served at the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the UN in New York (1994-1999), including during Indonesia’s membership of the Security Council in 1996-1997. He was awarded the Satyalancana Wira Karya medal from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in 2011. On 17 August 2014, he was awarded the Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana medal. In November 2012, he was made Honourary Knight Commander of the Order of St. Michael and St. George (KCMG) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In 2013, the Foreign Policy Magazine included Dr. Natalegawa among the list of 500 most influential individuals. He served as a member of the United Nations Secretary-General High Level Panel on Global Response to Health Crises. He also serves as Asia Society Policy Institute Distinguished Fellow, and soon to commence as a member of the CSIS (Washington) Southeast Asia Advisory Board; and International Academic Advisory Committee of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford.

마르티 나탈레가와 박사는 2009년부터 2014년까지 인도네시아 외교부 장관으로 재임하였고, UN 뉴욕지사의 대표부 대사로 활동하였다. 2005년부터 2007년까지는 인도네시아의 St. James와 아일랜드의 대사로, 2002년부터 2005년까지 인도네시아 외교부의 수석 보좌관이자 ASEAN 협력의 총장 그리고 외교부의 대변인으로 역임한 바 있다. 또한 인도네시아가 UN 안정 보장 이사회의 회원으로 지내는 동안(1996-1997), 1994년부터 1999년까지 유엔 뉴욕지사 주재 인도네시아 상임공관으로 지냈다. 2011년 인도네시아 정부로부터 Satyalancana Wira Karya 상과 2014년 8월 17일에 Bintang Mahaputra Adipradana을 수여 받았으며, 2012년 11월에 황후폐하 엘리자베스 II에게서 성미가엘-성조지 훈장 (KCMG)의 기사 작위를 받았다. 2013년에 포린 폴리시(Foreign Policy)지는 나탈레가와 박사를 가장 영향력 있는 500인에 선정했다. 최근 활동 중에 그는 보건 위기의 국제적 대책(Global Response to Health Crises)에 UN 사무총장의 고위 참모로 지냈다. 또한 아시아 사회 정책 연구소의 수석 연구원으로 지냈으며 곧 CSIS (워싱텅) 동남아시아 자문위원회; 옥스포드 센터의 이슬람 부서의 국제 학술 자문위원회의 회원으로 활동을 시작할 예정이다.
