I got Dr. Phil. degree at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich(LMU) in 1992. In Germany I studied theories of international politics, german foreign policy, european politics, sociology, russian & east-european history. From 1994 to 2003 I worked as a research fellow at the Korean Institute for National Unification(KINU) in Seoul. My major research fields were then culture studies, unification policy & foreign policy, case studies on german reunification etc. I was transferred to a Professor at the Chungnam National University in 2003 and have given lectures on international politics at the Graduate School of Peace & Security Studies and Department of Political Science & Diplomacy. With this career I have played roles as a member of the board in diverse academic associations and civil society groups as well as of advisory boards in government related to unification affairs.
<BR><BR>독일 뮌헨대학교(LMU) 사회과학부 정치학과에서 박사과정을 밟았다. 국제정치이론, 독일외교정책, 유럽정치, 사회학, 소련 및 동유럽사를 공부하고, 1992년 박사학위(Dr.Phil.)를 받았다. 귀국이후 1994년 통일연구원에 입사해서 2003년 충남대학교로 자리를 옮길 때까지 통일문화, 통일정책 및 외교, 독일통일사례 등을 중점적으로 연구했다. 2003년이래 지금까지 충남대학교 평화안보대학원에서 주로 국제정치학을 강의했으며, 현재는 사회과학대학 정치외교학과 소속 교수로 있다. 그동안 유관학계와 사회단체에서 임원 등 여러 역할을 했으며, 통일문제 관련 정부기관들에서 자문위원으로 활동했거나 활동 중에 있다
