고려대학교 Professor 교수 Dr. Nam-Kook Kim is Jean Monnet Chair Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Korea University. He studied at Seoul National University, Korea and University of Oxford, England and received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, USA. His main research interests are the philosophical interpretation of public policy in the areas of citizenship, human rights, and multiculturalism in Europe and Asia. Dr. Kim served as the Editor in Chief for the Korean Political Science Review 2010–2012 and as the president of the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies in 2017. He was also Directeurs d'Etudes Associes at Fondation Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, France in 2012 and Professeur Invite at l’Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), France in 2013. He was the winner of Best Article Awards from the Korean Political Science Association in 2011 and the Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies in 2011. In addition, he was listed in the Marquis Who's Who in the World, Volume 31, 32 (2014, 2015). His publications include the articles “Justifying Ground of Multicultural Policy: Universal Human Rights vs. Benefit of Diversity” (2014) and “Democratic Empire of European Union: A Normative Leader or a Realistic Compromiser?” (2011), and the books Multicultural Challenges and Sustainable Democracy in Europe and East Asia (Palgrave, 2014) and Multicultural Challenges and Redefining Identity in East Asia (Ashgate, 2014). <BR><BR>서울대학교 정치학과를 졸업하고 영국 옥스포드 대학을 거쳐 미국 시카고대학에서 정치학 박사학위를 받았다. 한국정치학회보 편집위원장을 역임했고 한국정치학회 학술상, 한국유럽학회 학술상 등을 수상했다. 파리고등사회과학원과 프랑스 인간과학재단의 초빙교수를 지냈으며 유럽연합이 수여하는 장 모네 석좌교수에 선정되었고 마퀴스 후스후 세계인명사전에 등재되었다. “Deliberative Multiculturalism in New Labour’s Britain” (2011) 등의 논문과 Multicultural Challenges and Sustainable Democracy in Europe and East Asia (2014) 등의 책이 있다. |
