이정수 대표는 SK텔레콤 및 SK플래닛에서 해외 사업 제휴, 벤처기업 투자 영역에서 경험을 쌓은 후 2012년 9월 플리토를 설립했다. 플리토는 ‘언어 장벽 없는 세상의 실현’을 모토로 하는 언어 데이터 비즈니스 모델로 글로벌 테크 기업들과 협업하여 언어 인공지능 엔진에 필요한 데이터를 공급하고 있으며 이 모델의 독창성을 이유로 2019년 7월 코스닥에 신규 상장했다. 2023년 현재 170개국, 1천만 명 이상의 사용자가 플리토의 서비스를 이용하고 있다. 2019년, 2022년에 과학기술정보통신부 장관 표창장을 수상하였다.

Simon Lee, the founder of Flitto, gained experience in overseas business partnerships and venture capital investments at SK Telecom and SK Planet before establishing Flitto in September 2012. Flitto is a language data business model with the motto of "realizing a world without language barriers." They collaborate with global tech companies to supply the data needed for language AI engines, and their innovative model led to their listing on KOSDAQ in July 2019. As of 2023, Flitto's services are used by more than 10 million users in 170 countries. Simon Lee received the Minister of Science and ICT Commendation Award in 2019 and 2022.
