Dr. Mirosław Makohonienko obtained his Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland in 1998. He is geologist and archaeologist specialised in Quaternary palaeoecology, biogeography and environmental archaeology. His main interest concerns history of vegetation changes, natural and cultural landscape development, man-environment interactions. In 1992-1993 he obtained research scholarship in the Quaternary Department of Lund University, Sweden. In 1994 he worked at Christian Albrechts Univeristy in Kiel, Germany in the Institute of Pre- and Protohistoric Archaeology. In the years 1998-2001 he obtained scholarship at Kyoto University and International Research Center for Japanese Studies in Kyoto, Japan. In 2005 was a research fellow in IRCJS under the guidance of Professor Yoshinori Yasuda. In that time he participated in numerous expeditions in East Asia – in China, Korea and Japan. His habilitation thesis written in 2009 concerned natural and anthropogenic vegetation changes in north-east China during Holocene. He is author or co-author of over 150 scientific articles and chapters in monographs, author of four books and co-editor of several monographs. Co-founder of the Association of Environmental Archaeology in Poland, twice elected as its president. He organized over 20 domestic and several international conferences dedicated to environmental changes. Presently, he has position of professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Head of the Department of Quaternary Geology and Palaeogeography and deputy-director of the Institute of Geoecology and Geoinformation at the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences.<BR><BR>Miroslaw Makohonienko 는 1998년 폴란드 토룬의 니콜라스 코페르니쿠스 대학에서 그의 지구과학 박사 학위를 취득하였다. 그는 4 요소로된 고생태학에 정통한 지질학자이자 고고학자이며 생물학자이고 환경고고학자이다. 그의 주 관심사는 식생의 변천사, 생태와 문화적 조경 발달사, 그리고 인간과 환경의 상호작용이다. 1992년부터 1년간 스웨덴의 룬드 대학 제 4기 학과(the Quaternary Department)에서 연구 장학금을 받고 수학하였다. 1994년에는 독일 키엘의 크리스찬 알브레히트 대학에 선사와 원사학의 고고학을 연구하는 기관에서 근무하였다. 1998년부터 2001년에는 교토 대학과 국제 일본 연구 센터에서 장학금을 받고 연구하였다. 2005년에는 IRCJS에서 요리노리 야수다 교수 지도아래 연구원으로 있었다. 그 기간 동안 중국, 한국과 일본을 비롯한 동아시아에 대한 수많은 연구에 참여하였다. 2009년 쓰여진 그의 교육 논문은 완신세(Holocene) 기간동안 중국의 동북 지역 식생의 생태적이고 인공적인 변천사를 다루고 있다.
그는 150개가 넘는 과학 논문의 필자 혹은 공동집필자이고 4권의 책을 쓴 필자이며 여러 논문집의 공동 편집자이기도하다. 폴란드의 환경 고고학 협회의 공동 창립자이며 두번에 걸쳐 회장으로 역임하였다. 그는 환경 변화 문제에 전념하는 국내를 비롯한 국제 학회를 여럿 마련하였다. 현제는 아담 미츠키에비치 대학에서 교수로 재직하고있으며 제4기 지질학과 고지리학과 학과장이며 지질과학 및 지리학부의 지형정보.지리생태학과의 부학장이다.
