현재 경제･산업분야의 국책연구기관인 산업연구원에서 북한 경제 연구를 담당하고 있다.주로 북한의 산업･기업(북한 산업･기업 역량, 북한내 산업 공급사슬, 북중무역), 남북 산업협력 전략을 연구하고 있으며 전공 분야인 지속가능발전, 기후･생태･환경, 녹색･에너지전환도 함께 연구하고 있다. 고려대학교에 경제학 박사학위를 취득(학위논문명: 지속가능발전에 관한 세 가지 에세이: 환경, 생활만족도, 경제체제전환국의 발전성과를 중심으로)하였다. 환경분야 최근 연구로는 『한반도 생활공동체 형성을 위한 남북협력 방향 모색: 3. 생태협력』(통일연구원, 2021), 『Planet ODA 전략 및 실천방안 연구』(산업연구원 수행 KOICA 연구보고서, 2020) 등이 있다.

Soojung Kim is Associate Research Fellow of Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade and is conducting research on the North Korean industry. In 2017, she is granted a Ph. D. in Economics from the Korea University, majoring in Development Economics (Dissertation title: Three Essays on the Sustainable Development: Focusing on the Environment, Life Satisfaction and the Development of Economic-transition Countries). Research topics of interest are inter-Korean industrial cooperation and North Korea’s sustainable development and green & energy transition.
