제주평화연구원 연구실장. University of Florida에서 정치학(국제정치) 박사학위를 받았다. 관심연구분야로는 국제정치경제, 동아시아 국제관계, 연구방법론 등이 있다. 주요 논문으로는 “Effects of Trade Relations on South Korean Views of China”(Asian Politics & Policy), “Effects of International Trade on East and Southeast Asians’ Views of China” (Korean Journal of International Studies), 그리고 “The Determinants of China-ROK Relations, 1993-2018: An Empirical Analysis Using Event Data” (Journal of Asian and African Studies) 등이 있다.

Alec Chung received his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at the University of Florida. He is currently workings as a Research Director at the Jeju Peace Institute. His research interests include peace and conflict in East Asia, political economy of East Asia, China-Japan-ROK relations, and the connection between public opinion and foreign policy in East Asian countries. He is the author of the articles “Effects of Trade Relations on South Korean Views of China,” “Effects of International Trade on East and Southeast Asians’ Views of China” and “The Determinants of China-ROK Relations, 1993-2018: An Empirical Analysis Using Event Data.”
