쉘든 히멜파브는 피스테크 랩의 CEO이자 대표이다. 미국평화연구소(USIP)의 독립 기관으로서 연구소를 설립 한 쉘든은 현재 지속 가능한 펀딩과 효과적인 프로그래밍 개발을 주도함으로써 연구소의 미래를 확보하기 위해 매일 노력하고 있다.
피스테크 랩 이전에 쉘든은 분쟁 속의 미디어와 기술, 과학, 평화구축에 초점을 맞춘 두 개의 혁신센터를 미국평화연구소에 설립했다. 그는 미국평화연구소 기업집행위원회(The Corporate Executive Board)에 합류하여 기술 실무 리더십 팀에 소속되어 정부, 대학 및 다국적 기업의 최고 정보 책임자들과 함께 일했다. 이에 앞서 미 상원 외교위원회(Senate Foreign Relations Committee) 자문위원, 요크셔 TV 북미 다큐멘터리 개발(North American Documentary Development for Yorkshire TV) 대표, Common Ground Productions의 제작 대표 겸 프로듀서로도 활동했다. 그는 수상 경력에 빛나는 영화 제작자이자, 전 국립 공영 라디오 Sunday Morning Edition의 해설자이자 정치, 대중 문화 및 갈등에 관한 수많은 기사들을 작성했다. 그는 보스니아, 이라크, 앙골라, 라이베리아, 마케도니아, 부룬디를 포함한 수많은 분쟁 국가에서 평화 구축 프로그램을 관리했으며 아메리칸 대학(American University)으로부터 의사당 지역 피스 메이커 상을 받았다.

Sheldon Himelfarb is the President and CEO of the PeaceTech Lab. As the driving force behind the creation of the Lab as an independent entity from USIP, Sheldon now works every day to secure its future by leading development for sustainable funding and impactful programming.
Before PeaceTech Lab, Sheldon created two Centers of Innovation at the U.S. Institute of Peace focused on media in conflict, and technology, science and peacebuilding. He joined USIP from The Corporate Executive Board, where he was on the Technology Practice Leadership Team, working with chief information officers from governments, universities, and multinational corporations. Prior to this, he served as foreign policy adviser to a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the head of North American Documentary Development for Yorkshire TV, and the CEO/Executive Producer for Common Ground Productions, the media division of Search for Common Ground. He is an award-winning filmmaker, former commentator for National Public Radio (Sunday Morning Edition) and author of numerous articles on politics, popular culture and conflict. He has managed peacebuilding programs in numerous conflicts, including Bosnia, Iraq, Angola, Liberia, Macedonia, Burundi and received the Capitol Area Peace Maker award from American University.
He holds a doctorate from Oxford University and a bachelor's degree in political science from Johns Hopkins University. He has held visiting or guest scholar positions at the Brookings Institution, Harvard University and the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
