김태균 원장인 한양대학교 전기공학과에서 학사, 석사, 박사 학위를 받았으며, 1996년부터 한국전력 전력연구원에 근무하면서 실시간 전력계통 해석, 전력계통 안정화, 친환경 전력설비 개발 등 다양한 분야의 연구를 수행하였다. 또한 2020년 부터 전력연구원 원장으로 부임하여 탄소중립 달성을 위한 에너지 전환 등 5개 분야의 R&D 포트폴리오를 재정립하고 한전 전력연구원의 연구개발을 총괄하고 있다.

Dr Kim Taekyun received B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Hanyang University in 1986, 1989, and 1993, respectively. Since 1996, he has worked in KEPCO Research Institute and carried out various research projects including development of real-time digital simulator, power system stabilizer and eco-friendly transmission facility as a supervisor. As the vice president of KEPCO, he is supervising all of KEPCO RI R&D projects to achieve carbon neutrality since 2020
